Reaching new heights
in noise control
Throughout Australasia multi residential and/or high rise living has become more popular. With more people living in close proximity and the advent of new entertainment technologies including surround sound systems, the impact of airborne sound has become a major consideration for building design and layout.
Peer Acoustic Stud has been designed to meet the requirements of the Building code of Australia (BCA 2010) for Acoustic performance.
The Peer Acoustic Stud system was designed after exhaustive development and consultation with Suppliers & end users.
It is simple and easy to install and uses standard building techniques. The system is very user friendly.
The use of the Peer Acoustic Stud System will result in a significant reduction of a buildings internal noise transfer levels when compared to other systems.
The Peer Acoustic Stud System is designed for the fixing of plaster board sheets to both sides of the stud as opposed to staggered stud systems where plasterboard is fixed to only one side of the stud.
Increased wall heights up to a maximum of 7184mm without the use of noggins are achievable.
The system is simpler to install and has reduced construction cost compared to a staggered stud system.
The Peer Acoustic Stud features a wider 40mm nominal fixing flange with mountain knurling resulting in easier screwing of plasterboard joints. The studs are designed for friction fit to top and bottom tracks without the need for permanent fixing saving labour and lowering construction costs
